Brittany R. Powell

Brittany Powell is a creative professional and museum educator in the Baltimore Region.

Born and raised in Havre de Grace, Maryland, a love of art, history, and learning was part of her daily life. As a child she loved playing outdoors, drawing, and helping her father with amateur archaeological digs or museum projects around town.

In 2007 she obtained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Painting with a Minor in Art History from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. She discovered museum education during an internship in her senior year of college and she began working in the Education Department at The Walters Art Museum shortly after graduation. In 2013 she completed her Master’s of Science in Leadership in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City.

Brittany believes passionately in the power of museums to connect people across cultures, geographies, and time periods and she loves questions that lead to more questions.

She currently lives in Havre de Grace, Maryland with her husband and two young children.
